An 18th century handmade secretary with hand turned vernacular detailing including scalloped feet and tulip-ornamented, faceted legs, all in a glowing beeswax buffed finish. The interior features perfectly preserved pigeonholes and drawers. Sturdy, original hidden supports with a scrolled detail hold the desktop when opened. Retains most of its original hardware--a modern replacement lock was added recently. T. Found in an Elizabethan manor house in Herefordshire.
