Trench Art

A pair of WW1 trench art finials, likely turned from repurposed brass artillery shell casings. Hand-shaped and lathe-worked, each takes on an acorn silhouette.

The brass has developed a rich, aged patina over time, with warm brown and muted gold tones throughout. Fine concentric tool marks remain visible to the underside.

Trench art from the first World War often reflects objects of utility reshaped into ornament or keepsake.

Each measures 3 1/2 inches in height by 2 1/8 inches in diameter.

Sold as a pair.
